fifa 11-reviews

FIFA has had great success over the last two years in terms of sales of its seminal soccer title. While the console iterations are largely responsible for the growing popularity of the series, that hasn't stopped EA Sports from churning out quality offerings on the portable systems of the world, too.FIFA 11 on DS continues in this tradition and adds the Ultimate Team feature that has been seen on many EA Sports franchises and also brings fresh mini-games into the mix. Though despite the nice additions, the on-field gameplay is starting to show a few annoying kinks in its typically impressive armor.
General gameplay works fine either playing solo, via Wi-Fi or the direct to DS wireless connection. The framerate is mostly steady, only dropping when the camera pans out to reveal the large expanse of the pitch on goal kicks. Player details could be better, but it's not bad for what the Nintendo DS can handle. The soccer's main detractor is the AI, which seems to have taken a step in the wrong direction since last year and exhibits some very strange behavior. I once saw a shot I had taken from outside the PK box clang off the post and roll to the feet of an AI-controlled teammate, but rather than running up and making a play on the ball (or moving anywhere at all for that matter), my teammate just sat there and watched as an easy goal got gobbled up by the opposing goalkeeper. FIFA 11 is filled with problems exactly like that. All too often the other team will stand in place, then advance the ball, then turn around in the opposite direction, then advance the ball and repeat the same cycle. And all of that was on difficulties higher than the insanely easy default setting. The idea of every FIFA game is to sell you on the idea that you're controlling real soccer players and that illusion is broken too often with FIFA 11 on DS.

CLOSING COMMENTS
FIFA 11 on DS has more AI issues than I’d like in my brand of soccer, but the core mechanics are still sound and that makes the game mostly enjoyable. This year’s release also comes with a nice stable of extras like a version of Ultimate Team that’s been nicely tailored to the DS and some fun mini-games to go along with mainstays like Manager Mode and Be A Pro. So while FIFA 11 is undoubtedly an enjoyable game overall, Exient needs to do some work on the AI before taking the pitch next year.
BT AT THE END I HAV TO SAY THAT IT IS MUCH MORE BETTER THAN PES 11
